The Routing Page in Appliance.io is your command center for delivery planning. Routing managers typically build routes the evening before delivery day, and this page gives you everything you need to organize stops, assign drivers, optimize truck loads, and connect routes directly to the Driver App. It supports both automated routing and manual control β€” so your delivery day runs smoothly.

πŸ“ Accessing the Routing Page

To begin, open the sidebar and click Routing.

At the top of the page, select:

  • Delivery Date

  • Warehouse Location (where items are leaving from)

  • Delivery Method

Only deliveries scheduled for that day will appear.

Once selected, the routing dashboard loads with a live map and delivery overview.

At the top, you’ll see key planning metrics:

  • Total stops (routed vs. unrouted)

  • Total pieces being delivered

  • Total installs scheduled

  • Average projected stops per truck

Don’t forget to review routing notes β€” these delivery notes attached to orders can help with planning and special instructions.

Above the map is a live breakdown of trucks, stops, and pieces, giving you an instant snapshot of the day’s workload.

🧭 Unrouted Stops

Scroll down to the Unrouted Stops section. This is where all pending deliveries live before being assigned to trucks.

You have two routing options:

  • Add Manual Stop

  • Auto-assign

βž• Adding a Manual Stop

Manual stops are ideal for last-minute deliveries, service calls, or custom tasks.

Click Add Manual Stop.

In the pop-up, complete:

  • Customer Details

  • Name, phone (only one number required), email, and address.

  • Stop Details
Estimated completion time and a short description.

  • If photos or signatures aren’t needed, toggle that option off.

Click Add Stop to save.

Your manual stop now appears in the unrouted list. Expand the stop to:

  • See Order Details

  • Edit details

  • Delete the stop

🚚 Assigning Stops to Trucks

To route deliveries, you can:

  • Drag and drop stops into trucks manually

  • Click Auto-assign to instantly generate optimized routes.

Each truck appears color-coded on the map for easy tracking.

You can rearrange stops anytime by dragging them between trucks.

Green envelope icons indicate delivery reminder emails have already been sent.

πŸ“ Viewing and Editing Order Details

Click See Order Details on any stop to view:

  • Model numbers

  • Fulfillment type

  • Products and installs

  • Quantity

Select Edit Order Details to update customer information or change delivery dates.

Click Save Changes to apply updates immediately.

πŸ—Ί Map View Controls

Use the Show All Trucks toggle to control visibility:

  • On β†’ display all routes

  • Off β†’ focus on individual trucks

This helps reduce clutter during busy routing days.

πŸ›  Truck Tools

Each truck includes built-in optimization tools:

  • Picklist – Print order details

  • Driver Link – Copy route link for drivers

  • Shortest Distance – Optimize stop order

  • Reverse Stops – Flip route order

  • Lock Stops – Prevent accidental edits

These tools let you fine-tune routes in seconds.

βš™ Select Action Menu

For advanced routing control, open the Select Action menu.

Available actions include:

  • Shortest distance optimization

  • Print All (Picklist / Install-only / Invoice)

  • View changelog

  • Emergency reschedule (single truck or entire route)

  • Reset routes

  • Add empty truck

You can also add manual stops directly under individual trucks.

πŸ‘¨β€βœˆοΈ Assigning Drivers

Before finalizing routes, assign drivers to each truck.

Click Assign Driver, choose from the dropdown, and assign one or multiple drivers.

Click Save to confirm.

⚠️ Important: always save your routes before leaving the page. Unsaved changes will be lost.

Once saved, drivers automatically receive an email with their route link, which opens directly in the Driver App.

πŸŽ‰ You’re All Set!

With routes saved and drivers assigned, your delivery day is fully prepared. The Routing Page centralizes planning, optimization, and communication so your team can execute efficiently from warehouse to doorstep.
