The Storage Locations feature in Appliance.io helps you break your warehouse into smaller, trackable areas — making it easier to organize, find, and manage inventory. Instead of treating a warehouse as one large space, you can assign models to specific storage spots and filter inventory instantly. It’s designed to give you better visibility, smoother operations, and total control over where your products live.
📍 Accessing Storage Locations
To begin, open the sidebar and click Inventory to view your models.
Storage Locations are managed per warehouse location. To add or edit them:
Open the sidebar and click Settings.
Under Basic Settings, select Company.
Go to the Location Settings tab.
Here you’ll see a list of your warehouse locations. Some locations may already have Storage Locations configured — others may not.
🧩 Adding Storage Locations to a Warehouse
In the Locations Settings tab, find the location you want to update.
In the Action column, click the pencil icon to edit.
Scroll down to the Storage Location section.
Type the name of your storage area — for example:
Storage 1
Floor 2
Back Room
Receiving Area
Need more than one?
Click Add Storage Location to create additional entries.
You can add as many storage sections as your warehouse requires.
Once finished, click Save.
Your location now has active Storage Locations ready to use.
🛒 Filtering Inventory by Storage Location
Return to the Inventory page.
Use the Location filter and select a warehouse.
A new filter will appear: Storage Location.
This allows you to narrow your view and display only models stored in specific areas.
This is especially helpful when:
Tracking down an item quickly
Auditing inventory sections
Preparing transfers
Organizing warehouse workflows
Storage Locations also integrate with inventory transfers and reconciliation processes for even tighter control.
🎯 Assigning a Model to a Storage Location
To assign a model:
Find the item in your Inventory list.
In the Status column, click the box-with-an-eye icon.
A pop-up window will appear.
Choose the correct Storage Location from the dropdown.
Click confirm.
You’ll see a success message indicating the update.
The model is now tagged to that storage spot — keeping your records accurate and easy to manage.
