Adding a Custom Model Right on a Quote

Ever have a model number for something out of the norm and it's not populating on an order- Or maybe you have an odd item and just want to sell it real quick without it being in inventory,Well, In this video, we’re going to walk you through how to create a Custom Product right on an Order.

From Quote: Add Line Item

Let’s start from the top: creating your quote.

Click 'Line Item'

Once you’re in the quote, click + Line Item,

Click 'Line Item'

Select Custom Product

then select Custom Product.

Click 'Custom Product'

Enter Details

Now, here’s where you start filling it in. Start by entering the Custom Model Number — be as accurate as possible.

Click here

Then, If the product is taxable, flip the Tax toggle on.

Click 'expand_less
                           
            
                on Is Taxed'

Choose the Condition, enter Quantity, and Price.

Click 'expand_less
                           
            
                on Is Taxed'

You can also add a Description if you want — totally optional!

Click 'Type here...'

Next up: don’t forget to add a Fulfillment Type — this tells us how the product is being delivered or picked up.

Click here

Custom Install

Want to include an install? Since this is a custom product, you’ll need to click + Custom Install.

Click 'install Name'

Name it & Set Price

Give it a name, set the price, and hit Save.

Click 'Save'

Complete the Order

Once everything looks good, go ahead and complete the payment to turn that quote into an official Order.

Click 'Description'

Inventory Bypass Option

If that custom product isn’t already in your inventory, you have two choices: If it's a one-time type of sale, you can choose inventory bypass

and simply enter the serial number, delivery method, date of sale and the approximate cost of the item.

*Important Note

Once your finished, the item will reflect as having been delivered. Notice, the date of sale is also the date of delivery here. So this feature is intended for items sold and done right away, whether the customer is taking it home from the store after purchase or getting delivered the same day.

Or Add to Inventory

Now, if you don't want to bypass inventory and would rather Add it to your inventory, so you can use that model number again —no worries—just add it!

Inventory Page- Register Model

Head to the Inventory page and click Register Model Number.

Click 'Register Model Number'

A pop-up will appear. Start by choosing your Registration Type: Register a new model number, or update an existing one. Next, pick your Model Type: New Model or Old Model.

Then, enter the Model Number — exactly as it appears. No extra spaces or characters!

Click here

Below that, you can fill in the Model Name (like “Sub-Zero Custom Refrigerator”) and the UPC Code — both are optional.

Click here

Brand Missing?

Then select a Brand Name from the dropdown. Don’t see the brand listed? Reach out to the support team — we’ll help you add it.

Click here

Now assign the item to the right categories: Appliance Type, Sub-Category, and Detail Category.

Click 'Save'

Once you’ve got it all in, click Save.

Click 'Save'

Add Stock

Now that the product is in your inventory, it’s time to add stock. Go to the Purchase Orders page and click Receive Inventory, then choose By Single Item.

Click 'By Single Item'

In the pop-up, Fill out the Inventory Details,

Click 'Serial Number 
                            info'

and the Stock section.

Click 'Stock  Add Stock      
                            Cost
                               attach_money   Description  Pictures         cloud_upload Choose files
                            or drop it...'

Once it all looks good, hit Add Inventory.

Click 'Add Inventory'

Back to Order

Now hop back over to the order page, you’ll see that you’ve got 1 stock available. Click View Items,

Reserve It

then hit Reserve.

Click 'Reserve'

You’ll see a “Success!” notification — and just like that, your custom product is officially ready to be delivered.

Click 'Success!×'
