Manually completing a delivery in Appliance.io allows you to keep order statuses accurate when a delivery didn’t go through the Driver App or was completed outside the normal workflow. This guide walks you through when and how to manually mark a delivery as completed, plus tips to prevent missed statuses in the future.
Preventing Manual Work with Autocomplete Orders
To reduce the need for manual updates, you can enable automatic delivery completion.
Open Settings
Navigate to Delivery & Install Automation Settings
Turn on Autocomplete Orders
How Autocomplete Orders Work
Choose a specific time of day (for example, 10:00 PM).
Once that time passes, any orders delivered that same day will automatically be marked as Completed.
This helps prevent missed delivery statuses and reduces manual cleanup.
Accessing the Order Delivery Status
To manually complete a delivery:
Open the Customer’s Order.
Locate the In Warehouse & Reserved section.
Here, you’ll see the current Delivery Status for the order.
Scenario 1: Delivered Outside the Driver App
If the item was delivered to the customer but not through the Appliance.io Driver App:
Click the Status dropdown.
Select Delivered.
Once updated:
You’ll see a success notification.
The delivery steps on the order will turn green, indicating completion.
Can’t Select “Delivered”? Here’s Why
If the order status is already:
Scheduled, or
Assigned to a Truck
You won’t be able to jump directly to Delivered.
What to do instead:
Change the status back to Open.
Select a Delivery Method.
Update the status to Delivered.
Delivery Date Requirements
You can only manually mark an order as Delivered if:
The delivery date is today, or
The delivery date is in the past
If the delivery is scheduled for a future date, the platform will not allow early completion.
Scenario 2: Delivered but Not Marked Completed
If the item has been delivered but still shows as incomplete because it didn’t go through the Driver App, you have two options:
Option 1: Contact your driver and ask them to manually mark it as Delivered in the Driver App.
Option 2: Wait one day. Once the delivery date has passed, you can manually update the status from the Order page.
Choose whichever option is easiest for your workflow.
Important Note About Driver Reports
If you manually mark an order as Delivered:
That delivery will not appear in the Driver Report.
Driver Reports only track deliveries completed through the official Appliance.io routing app.
You’re All Set!
You now know how to manually complete a delivery in Appliance.io — and how to prevent missed statuses using automation. Keeping delivery statuses accurate ensures smoother operations, clearer reporting, and a better experience for your team and customers.
