Protection Plan Settings

Empower your customers with extended service coverage and peace of mind

Updated over a week ago

The Protection Plan Settings page in Appliance.io lets you manage and customize the protection plans offered for your products. These plans help safeguard customer purchases, strengthen trust, and generate additional revenue — all while providing extended coverage and flexible service options across your product lineup.

📍 Accessing Protection Plan Settings

To begin, open the sidebar and click Settings at the bottom.
In the Basic Settings section, select Protection Plan.

Inside this page, you’ll find two main tabs:

  • Third-Party App – For external providers like Mulberry or CPS (you can choose your provider in the Integration page).

  • Internal – For your company’s own, in-house protection plan.

Each tab helps you manage protection options for different use cases — from manufacturer-backed warranties to store-managed coverage plans.

🔎 Using Filters

To make navigating easier, the Protection Plan page comes with four built-in filters:

  • Search Bar – Quickly find plans by keyword or SKU.

  • Categories – Filter by product category.

  • Sub-Categories – Narrow down to a specific product type.

  • Detail Categories – Refine your search even further.

If you ever need to start over, click Reset Filter to clear all selections and refresh the full list of plans.

🧭 Changelog & Adding a New Plan

At the top-right corner of the page, you’ll see two key buttons:

  • Changelog – This section logs every action made within Protection Plan Settings, including creating, editing, duplicating, and deleting plans. It’s your built-in activity tracker for transparency and control.

  • Add Protection Plan – Use this to create a new plan for your products.

💡 Note: You can only add protection plans for Internal and Mulberry integrations.

🛠️ Creating a New Protection Plan

Click Add Protection Plan, and a pop-up form will appear.
Here’s what you’ll need to fill in:

  • Product SKU

  • Duration of the protection plan

  • Price and Cost

  • Type of Appliance

  • Product Price Range

  • Condition

Once all fields are complete, click Save to apply and store your new plan. The protection plan will automatically appear in your plan list.

📋 Protection Plan Table Overview

After saving, your plan will show up in the table view with the following details:

  • SKU – The product identifier

  • Plan Type – Internal or third-party

  • Type of Appliance – Category of the covered product

  • Cost and Price – Plan pricing details

  • Product Price Range – The eligible product value range
