The Notification Settings feature in Appliance.io allows you to manage how notifications are sent to your team and your customers. You can easily toggle notifications on or off, customize the message content, choose recipients, and categorize notifications by priority to keep your communication organized and efficient.
📍 Accessing Notification Settings
To access Notification Settings:
Open the sidebar and click Settings.
Under Advanced Settings, select Notification.
You’ll find two main tabs at the top of the page:
Internal Notifications – for alerts shared between employees.
Customer Notifications – for updates sent to customers.
Let’s walk through each section.
🏢 Internal Notifications
Internal Notifications are alerts, messages, and updates shared only among your employees — helping your team stay informed and responsive.
At the top of this tab, you’ll see an Email Input Box. Enter the sender email address that will appear on your outgoing notifications.
Below, you’ll find four Priority Tabs that categorize and filter notifications:
All Priority
Urgent Priority
High Priority
Low Priority
Notifications are automatically categorized, but you can easily change their priority level whenever needed.
✏️ Editing an Internal Notification
To edit a notification:
Click on any notification from the list.
A pop-up window will appear.
Inside the pop-up, you can:
Set the Priority Level — choose between Urgent, High, or Low.
Select Recipients — pick who should receive the notification. Selecting “Salesperson” automatically assigns it to the employee listed on the order.
Customize the Email Notification — edit the Subject and Body of the email.
Each notification comes with a pre-written subject and body template, but you can modify them to match your communication style. You can also insert codes in the message body to dynamically pull in relevant details (like order or customer information).
When finished, click Save Changes.
Once sent, recipients can click the button inside the email to go directly to the source of the notification.
👥 Customer Notifications
Customer Notifications are messages sent to external users — your customers — to keep them updated about important actions or events, such as order confirmations, quotes, or status updates.
This section has two sub-tabs: Email and SMS.
📧 Customer Notifications – Email
To enable a customer email notification:
Toggle the switch to turn on the notification.
Click on any notification to open its pop-up window.
From here, you can edit most of the same fields as in Internal Notifications — Priority, Recipients, Subject, and Message Body.
At the bottom of the pop-up, click Preview Email to see exactly how the message will appear to your customers before sending it out.
💬 Customer Notifications – SMS
The SMS tab works just like the Email tab, but simpler.
You can only type your text message — no subject line or preview.
Use SMS notifications for quick, straightforward updates that need to reach customers fast.
🎉 You’re All Set!
With Notification Settings, you have full control over how communication flows within your business and with your customers.
From team alerts to customer updates, every message can be tailored, prioritized, and delivered your way — all in one place.
