The Register Model Number feature in Appliance.io allows you to add new model numbers or update existing ones directly in the system. Whether you’re registering a brand-new model, adding discontinued products, or correcting model details, this tool helps keep your inventory data accurate, consistent, and up to date.
You can register models individually or in bulk, making it flexible for both quick updates and large imports.
📍 Accessing Register Model Number
To begin, open the sidebar and click Inventory.
At the top of the Inventory page, click Register Model Number.
A pop-up window will appear where you can start registering or updating models.
🧭 Choose Registration Type
At the top of the pop-up, select your Registration Type:
Register Model Number – Add a new model to the system
Update Existing – Edit details for a model that’s already registered
Start by selecting Register Model Number.

🏷️ Choose Model Type
Next, choose the Model Type:
New Model – For active, currently sold models
Old Model – For discontinued or inactive models that are not yet in the database
⚠️ Important: Do not register active models as Old Models. This option is only for discontinued or inactive items.
🧾 Choose Input Type
Now, select how you want to enter model data:
🧩 Register a Single Model
Register one model at a time. Scan or manually type the Model Number from the barcode. Make sure it matches exactly — no extra spaces or special characters.
Once entered, the Model Details section will appear. Fill in:
Model Name
UPC Code (optional)
Brand Name
After selecting the Brand Name, additional dropdowns will appear:
Appliance Type
Sub-Categories
Detail Categories
Once all required fields are completed, click Save.
Your model is now successfully registered.
📂 Bulk Import Models
To register multiple models at once, select Bulk Import.
Upload a CSV file containing your model information.
If you don’t have the template yet, you can download it directly from the pop-up.
Before uploading, make sure to review the authorized brands and categories in AIO to ensure your file matches available options.
After uploading, you’ll see a file preview so you can double-check the data.
When everything looks correct, click Save to complete the import.
🔄 Update Existing Models
To edit a model that’s already registered, switch the Registration Type to Update Existing.
Enter the Model Number:
If it exists, a suggestion will appear — select it
If no suggestion appears, the model has not been registered yet
Once selected, the model’s details will load, including:
Model Name
UPC Code
Brand Name
Appliance Type
Sub-Categories
Detail Categories
You can update any of these fields as needed.
When finished, click Save to apply your changes.
