If you work with builders and contractors, it can be challenging to keep track of multi-piece orders that potentially have a later "need date". For these scenarios, it's a good idea to set up a separate location called "Contractor Inventory" to better manage that inventory.

4. Reserving Your Contractor Inventory
When you are on a Builder or Contractor order and ready to reserve inventory...
Select the Blue "Check Stock" icon that looks like a blue disc with a magnifying glass inside it.
The "Reserving Inventory" box will pop up
Use the Inventory Location Drop-down to select your new "Contractor Inventory" location.
Select "Reserve"
And now, you have just reserved the inventory for that order -out of your new Contractor Inventory.
5. Locking Your Contractor Inventory
It's a good idea to prevent your salespeople who do not work with builders and contractors from having access to this new location.
We have a permission setting coming where you can restrict employees from reserving from this location, for now - Just let us know if this is something you want us to do for your account and we can lock it out easily.
You can also simply instruct your employees not to reserve from this location.
