Delivery and Automation combines and automates the rules and methods you have assigned for deliveries, schedules, installs, pricing zones, routing and fulfilment. Let's get it configured!
Find Delivery and Install Automation from your advances settings.
1. Page Layout
Ok. We've got 3 tabs across the top of the page. General Settings, Delivery Methods and Install Rules.
2. Damage Waiver
We're starting with General Settings. Let's look at the Damage Waiver first. Drop down the info by clicking anywhere along the bar.
It's a good idea to add a damage waiver that is accessible to your drivers, and this is where you define it. We have it toggled on by default.
Why do you need a damage waiver?
Maybe once your driver gets to the property, they realize the customer is asking them to take the appliance up a windy dangerous staircase, or across newly refinished hardwood floors, or just one of those unusual cases that could potentially cause damage to the appliance or your customers property.
If you customer is good with it, your delivery guy can go right to his driver app,
Drivers App View
This is his view while his stop is in progress,
He just clicks the 3 dots over to the right of his status bar,
chooses damage waiver from the drop down,
Notice the damage waiver verbiage displayed right at the top?
He selects the customer from the drop down,
hands his phone to the customer, so they can sign
clicks submit,
The driver is notified immediately that all is good, and he is free to do as the customer wishes.
Back to the Platform!
Give it a good title that explains its purpose.
Now type out the specifics of your waiver. Don't hold back here, this protects you and gives your customer fair warning!
3. Delivery Rules
Next, let's pop down Delivery Rules!
Notice these are toggled on by default, so read through them carefully to be sure you want to keep these settings enabled.
The first one locks the delivered status on all orders. This means no-one will be able to reopen it from the order page. This is a good way to prevent mishaps and confusion, the delivery status is fully controlled through the drivers app.
The second, autocompletes all of the delivery trucks at a set time, that you input in the box right below. This prevents drivers from leaving routes open. This is also a very good idea, as we see many times that a driver forgets to complete his last stop on the app and it creates issues in the morning when he wants to start the next days route and is prevented from doing due to our preventative feature of not allowing new routes to start before prior routes are closed.
The third one requires all models in a truck to be scanned out before you can start the route.
4. Drivers App View
This is what it looks like to your driver, from the drivers app. He goes to start the route,
But Oop. Nope. Not happening. He's about to potentially leave without all of his appliances!
Surely, you don't want any sad customers,
and certainly not angry ones! Right? yeah I'm with you! Toggle ON!
OK, last one, This is to alert drivers when attempting to accept a new route while already having one open. This one is not toggled on by default, your choice!
5. Pricing Zones
Moving right along, let's pop down the Pricing Zones and take a peek.
Remember when you set these up back in your delivery schedule? Yep. This is where they can be edited,
or you can even add a new one with that button at the top right, Add New Pricing Zone!
5. Delivery Options!
This is just simply listing all of your delivery options you have already added,
gives you the option to edit
or even add a new one! Easy Peesey!
6. Haul Away & Move
Haul away is simply taking something away from your customers property, Moving is keeping an item on the property - moving an appliance to the basement, or maybe the garage? Toggle it on or off!
Just like all the others, name it how you like it,
Again, be descriptive! Notice this client is very clear in what they will or will not do. Think about particular customers with detailed requests, stairs, long driveways or how your trucks handle tight turns. All good things to include.
7. Haul-Away Charges
How much do you want to automatically charge for haulaways, per item? And do you want to charge less or even nothing if they are doing an install? Good questions.
8. Delivery Methods
And just like that, we're off to Delivery Methods!
9. Create a New Delivery Method
Notice all of your delivery methods you created are listed here.
You can add a new one here with the button at the top right called Create New Delivery Method!
You've seen this before, just another place to access this feature!
Use the drop down in the top left to select a default, fyi, this goes live in the system as soon as you change it!
Edit any method with the good old edit pencil of course.
If you need a refresher on the individual descriptions for these options, refer to Settings 2.3. the Delivery Schedule Video - Step 12!
Before we head to the last tab - quick note: Your Pick Up Locations are activated on the Company - Location Setting page -
You can get there quickly by clicking this link in the warning message at the top.
This is where that takes you, select the edit pencil for the location you want as your pick-up, and get the pop-up box
See the toggle?
10. Install Rules
OK! Finally, Install Rules.. here we go!
These are all of your Install Rules of course, drop-down the details of each with this little arrow to the left.
This shows you your category,
subcategory,
detail category,
and filter names!
Your full install Description,
Here's a direct link to the install page, this takes you to Managing Installs on the Install settings page.
Notice this option to "Block a Method" at the top right, under action? This gives you the option to block a delivery method from performing this install type. You can block a whole delivery company or just a specific individual.
Then all of your blocked methods will appear under each installation right here, with the details!
And of course you can search all of your installs right here at the top, with the various filters,
When you choose to Block a Method,
You get your pop-up box to make those choices we talked about, simple stuff here!
