Add-ons in Appliance.io let you easily attach extra services — like Fulfillment Types (Installs & Delivery), Protection Plans, and Haul Away — directly to a quote or order. These options help increase order value, improve customer experience, and ensure smoother fulfillment from start to finish.
This guide walks you through how to add and manage Add-ons step by step, right from your quote — and even after payment.
📍 Accessing Add-ons from a Quote
To begin, open any Quote and add at least one product as a line item.
Once the product is added, click the dropdown arrow on the line item.
You’ll see three Add-on options:
Fulfillment Type
Protection Plan
Haul Away
Each option serves a different purpose and can be added independently as needed.
🚚 Fulfillment Type (Required)
Fulfillment Type defines how the product will be delivered, installed, or picked up.
This step is required for every quoted product.
⚠️ Important: A quote cannot be paid unless a Fulfillment Type is selected.
To add one:
Click Add Fulfillment Type
A pop-up will appear with four options:
Local Delivery & Install
Local Delivery Only
Pickup
Customer Not Sure
Select one or multiple options by checking the boxes
Click Save
The selected fulfillment details will now appear directly on the quote line item.
♻️ Haul Away
Haul Away is used when you’re buying back old appliances from a customer. Your company is paid for each item hauled away.
You can add Haul Away in two ways:
Option 1: Toggle Method
Turn the Haul Away toggle ON
Enter the number of items being picked up
Click Save
Option 2: Add Haul Away Button
Click Add Haul Away from the line item dropdown
Enter the number of items
Click Save
Once added, Haul Away details will display clearly on the quote.
🛡️ Protection Plans
Protection Plans give customers extra peace of mind and create additional revenue opportunities.
To add a Protection Plan:
Click the Protection Plan from the line item dropdown
Select the plan that best fits the product
Click Save
The Protection Plan will now be attached to the quote.
💡 Note: Protection Plans only appear if they are enabled in your Integrations settings.
💳 Adding Add-ons After Payment
If your quote has already been paid and converted into an Order, you can still add:
Fulfillment Types (Installs)
Haul Away
Protection Plans
The process is exactly the same as adding them to a quote.
However, keep in mind:
Any Add-ons added after payment must be paid for separately
If payment is missing, a banner will appear at the top of the order page
The banner remains until the balance is settled, so nothing gets overlooked
