Hey there! In this video, we’re going to walk you through something simple but super handy: Storage Locations.
Where to Find it
On the sidebar, head over to Inventory.
So, what are Storage Locations? Think of them as sub-areas inside your main warehouse — like different rooms or sections — to help you organize inventory even better. Let's click on the Location filter.
Let’s say you have three locations: Ballwin, Edwardsville, and Manchester. You might notice that Ballwin and Edwardsville already have Storage Locations… but Manchester doesn’t. Let’s fix that.
How to Add Storage Locations
First, head over to Settings in your sidebar.
Then click on Company,
and go to the Location Settings tab.
As you can see here, Manchester doesn't have any Storage Locations. Let's change that.
Hit the pencil icon to edit it.
Now, scroll down a bit, and you’ll see the Storage Location section. Just type in the name of your storage area — for example, Store 1.
Need to add more than one location? No problem — just click on Add Storage Location to add more storage locations.
When you’re done, hit Save.
Manchester now has its own Storage Locations. Simple and Easy!
Storage Location Filter
Now let’s head back to the Inventory page. Click the Location filter and select one of the Locations.
You’ll now see a new filter pop up: Storage Location.
Just like the Location filter, you can use this to narrow things down and see models in specific storage spots only.
This is super useful if you want to track down exactly where an item is stored.
And here’s the cool part — Storage Locations also come into play when you’re doing things like transferring or reconciling inventory. We’ve got separate videos for those, so definitely check them out if you haven’t already.
How to Assign a Model to a Specific Storage Location.
Now, let’s talk about how to assign models to a specific Storage Location. You'll notice a little box-with-an-eye icon on the status column. Click that
And you’ll get the option to choose where the model should go.
Pick your Storage Location from the dropdown — for this one, let's change it to Floor 2.
Once selected, you’ll see a Success message confirming the change. This keeps everything crystal clear, so you always know where your inventory is.
And that’s it! With Storage Locations, you’ll keep your inventory more organized and easier to manage. Thanks for reading, and see you in the next one!
