Hey there! In this article, we’re going to show you how to handle unauthorized Skulytics models.

Where to Find it?

Let’s get started. First, head over to the Purchase Orders page.

Click 'description'

In the top-right corner, click Receive Inventory

Then, from the dropdown, select Import by CSV.

Click 'Import by CSV'

Importing The Models

Next up, set a few key details:

Click 'Import By CSV
                                  close'

Choose your Stock Inventory Location

Click 'Import By CSV
                                  close'

Optionally, set a Storage Location

d

And select the Condition of the items

Once all that’s filled out, you’ll see a new option appear: Upload CSV File. You can now drag and drop your CSV file — or click to upload. Your file should include: Model Number, Brand, Quantity, and Cost.

d

Need a template? No worries — just hit Download CSV Template to grab one.

After uploading, you’ll see a Preview File section.

d

Here’s the cool part: even if some models aren’t yet registered in the system, they’ll still upload — but they’ll be flagged during validation.

d

Click Import when you're ready.

Click 'Import'

Import Validation Summary

Now, the Import Validation Summary pop-up will show you everything that was processed. You’ll see: Categorized models (which are good to go!) and Uncategorized models (that were flagged with a warning). These unregistered models can’t be added to quotes or orders just yet.

Click 'Data import completed sucessfully'

You’ve got a few options here: Download the Unregistered CSV, send it to the Data Team for review, or register the models yourself.

Click 'NWBNB370

                        AN13SBA5W'

Need a refresher on what brands and categories are allowed? Click the link in the summary — it’ll take you to a full list of authorized brands and categories.

Click 'NWBNB370

                        AN13SBA5W'

Send to The Data Team for Correction

To send to the Data Team, just hit Send for Data Correction.

d

You’ll see a confirmation pop-up — click Yes, Confirmed, and you’re done.

Click 'Cancel'

The Data Team will review and add them to the system if everything checks out. You'll get a notification once the Data team has successfully updated it.

d

Register Models Manually

Want to register the models yourself instead? Click Register Models.

d

It will take you to the Inventory page. A pop-up will open — here, you can choose between: Single Model registration or Bulk Import via CSV

Click 'View the list of authorized brands & categories on

                        help.appliance.io'

Drag and drop your CSV file — or click to upload.

Again, if you need a template, it’s just a click away.

Click 'help.appliance.io'

As you upload your file, if there’s an unknown category, you’ll see a warning icon with a helpful tooltip.

Click 'Upload CSV File template_request_model.csv cloud_upload Choose File
or drag and drop your CSV file here...'

The same thing goes for unrecognized brands.

Click 'Upload CSV File template_request_model.csv cloud_upload Choose File
or drag and drop your CSV file here...'

This helps make sure everything you add is accurate and ready for quotes or shipping. To fix this, you have to create a custom Brand and Category. We already have a tutorial for this; you might want to check it out! After the register is successful, repeat the process so that the model can be imported to the inventory on the last slide.

Click 'Kitchenware'

And that’s it! Thanks for reading — and we’ll see you in the next one!
