Welcome to Appliance.io! Getting products from your warehouse to your customer’s home doesn’t have to be complicated. This beginner-friendly guide gives you a high-level overview of how Routing, Scan-Out, Drivers App, and Home Visits work together — so your team knows exactly what to do, from planning the day to completing the last stop.

🚚 Step 1: Plan Your Day with Routing

Routing is where every delivery day begins.

Where to start

  • Open Routing from the sidebar.

  • Select the delivery date and delivery method.

What you’ll do

  • View unrouted stops scheduled for the day.

  • Assign stops to trucks manually (drag & drop) or use Auto-assign.

  • Adjust stop order, add manual stops, or insert empty trucks if needed.

  • Assign one or more drivers to each truck.

  • Save your routes.

Once saved, each driver automatically receives an email with a link to their route.

📦 Step 2: Scan Out Items Before Delivery

Before a driver can leave, every item on the truck must be scanned out.

How it works

  • Go to the Deliveries page and click Scan Out Inventory.

  • Select the delivery method, date, and truck.

  • Scan each item’s barcode (or manually enter model and serial numbers).

  • Process the scans to confirm all items are loaded.

✅ All items must be scanned out before a driver can start their route.

📱 Step 3: Complete the Day Using the Drivers App

The Drivers App is a browser-based tool — no download required.

What drivers see

  • Today’s summary: total stops, installs, distance, and estimated time.

  • Assigned truck and a fully mapped route.

  • Individual stop tiles with customer details, notes, and fulfillment info.

What drivers can do

  • Notify customers when they’re on the way.

  • Navigate using Google Maps.

  • Start and complete deliveries.

  • Add serial numbers, notes, photos, and customer signatures.

  • Report reschedules, missed stops, or damage in real time.

Progress updates instantly reflect back on the order and dashboard at the store.

🏠 Step 4: Handle Surveys, Services, and Installs with Home Visits

Home Visits let you manage non-delivery appointments — all tied directly to an order or quote.

Types of Home Visits

  • Survey: Measure spaces or verify fit before an install.

  • Service: Repair or inspect existing appliances.

  • Install: Complete an install that didn’t happen at delivery.

How to add one

  • Open an Order or Quote.

  • Select Add a Home Visit.

  • Choose the visit type, model, delivery method, date, and description.

  • Save — it appears instantly in the order summary.

Drivers complete Home Visits through the same Drivers App, including surveys with sketches, measurements, photos, and notes.

✅ Bringing It All Together

Here’s the full flow:

  1. Route your deliveries.

  2. Scan out all items.

  3. Drivers deliver using the Drivers App.

  4. Track progress, reschedules, damage, and Home Visits in real time.
